"After receiving Laura's course in another venue, I made the determination that the Active Threat Response & Tactical Trauma Care training was necessary for my company, which employees 48 people in two locations.
I invited several community businesses and professionals to the training Laura conducted for us, including two local law enforcement officers. This training course is a must for any business."

Excellent presentation!
Everyone should go through this educational training!

This training is essential for everyone at a workplace nowadays. Before this I had no idea in case of emergency how to protect myself and possibly be able to help others.

This course was the absolute most valuable training I have ever been involved in.

Laura, it was one of the best classes I have been too!

I've taken brief seminars on Active Shooters from both Homeland Security and county
agencies. This seminar was much more in-depth and well structured for citizens, not
just emergency personnel.

This training made me aware that we all need to carry a proper first aid kit & not be afraid to use it.

Great interactive class! Very impactful.

One thing I will take away from today is to always check exits and have a plan - something I never thought to do before today.

I liked that we got hands on experience with multiple drills of potentially life-threatening situations. Rather than just learning on the power point, we can apply our knowledge on other people.

Real Life Testimonial from a TTR Trained Corporate Client
Becky,
I just wanted to thank you (and whoever else made the decision) for arranging active shooter training for Amber Road employees. Last Friday I swung by Barnes & Noble to pick up a notebook to use at my conference this week, and while I was browsing the shelves I heard someone scream. Then I heard what sounded like a paintball gun, following by people running and screaming. Then I heard what were definitely gunshots and completely froze. I was in the front corner of the store, so there wasn’t an exit close by. At first I was going to hide behind a shelf, and I started looking for things to throw at the person, just in case (my training kicking in!). And then I realized there was an emergency exit the next section up, so I decided to make a run for it – encouraging another customer that was hiding to do the same. I was able to get out of the building and run to my car and make it home safely. Once the story finally broke on the news, I discovered that it was an 18-year-old with 2 pellet guns that looked (and sounded) like real guns. He ended up shooting 3 people. When police arrested him they discovered an IED. It’s a miracle no one was more seriously injured.
It was the most terrifying experience of my life, but I can honestly say that going through the training really helped prepare me. I signed up for the training thinking it would be nice information to have, not even considering the possibility that I would ever actually need it. (I mean, I live in Cary – one of the safest places in NC.) But I did – and I’m so thankful I took the class not once, but twice. And I will be taking it again if it’s offered in the future.
As you can imagine, I’m still pretty freaked out by the experience. I had to run some errands this weekend and I found myself constantly looking for alternate exits – another thing we learned in training! I’m still trying to cope with it all, but I just wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you.
